Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship

A. DECLARATION OF FAITH

The Presiding Bishop, Bishops, Vicars, Priests, Deacons and lay
members of the Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship publicly declare that:

WE BELIEVE IN

1. The Holy Trinity
One true God, of infinite goodness and power; the Creator of all things visible and
invisible. In the one true God, there exists there are three Persons, of equal substance and
power; one Person of the Father, neither created nor begotten; the Person of the Son who
is of the Father neither made or created but begotten by the power of the Person of the
Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son thus not created nor begotten.

2. Jesus the Christ, the Son of God
Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the only-begotten Son of God, who took human form and
nature by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Jesus
suffered under Pontius Pilate, suffered, died and was buried. He rose from the dead,
ascended into have and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to
judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will be for all eternity.
3. The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Lord and giver of all life and proceeds from, and is worshiped and
glorified with the Father and the Son.

4. One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church
The Church, founded by Christ for the redemption of humankind is One, Holy, Catholic
and Apostolic. By mandate of Christ the Redeemer, and empowered by the Holy Spirit,
the Church has power and authority to preach the Gospel, the Good News to all.

B. ARTICLES OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND EXPRESSION

1. Salvation in Christ
Faith in Jesus the Christ is the method of salvation for humanity. Faith in Christ is
expressed through the corporal works of mercy.

2. Scriptures
The Holy Scriptures, the Bible, the Word of God is the primary means through which
God reveals himself to humanity and encompasses those teachings necessary for
salvation.

3. The Creed
The Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds articulate the system of belief embraced by the
Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship, taught to the faithful and declared by all in the acceptance
of the Christian Faith.

4. Sacraments of the Church
The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship believes in the tangible presence of God in the Seven
Sacraments of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church, instituted by the Lord Jesus
Christ. These Seven Sacraments are instruments by which God confers Grace upon
faithful recipients. The Sacraments of the Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship are:

Baptism – A Sacrament of Initiation administered by water in the Name of the Father, the
Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe in ONE baptism for the remission of sins and
membership in the Christian Community.

Confirmation – A Sacrament of Initiation, with the imposition of hands and anointing
with the Oil of Chrism, the faithful are confirmed in faith and strengthened by the gifts of
the Holy Spirit.

Eucharist – A Sacrament of Initiation, the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ, is the
source and summit of our faith expression. The Eucharistic Celebration is the means by
which Christ is truly present in the community gathered, the Word Proclaimed and in the
Sacred Species of his body and blood. The Holy Eucharist nourishes the faithful and
provides strength for their faith journey.

Reconciliation – A Sacrament of Healing through the confession of sins as taught by the
ancient Hebrews, and commanded by Christ, reconciles the sinful with the church
community and with God.

Anointing of the Sick – This Sacrament of Healing provides those who are ill of mind,
body or spirit, with strength and remission of sins through prayer and anointing.

Matrimony – A Sacrament of Vocation in which a couple are joined together and
consecrated as co-creators with the Lord to have dominion over creation and fill it with
the fruits of their love and labor.

Holy Orders – A Sacrament of Vocation by which Bishops, Priests and Deacons are
called by the community, ordained, and receives the power and authority to perform their
sacred duties of their office.

C. STATEMENT OF DISTINCTION

1. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship is a partnership of individual rites in the
Autocephalous Movement, autonomous from the Roman Catholic Church. The CCEF is a
component member of Christ’s one, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church which unites
all Christians throughout the world as established by the Apostles.

2. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship is under the authority of the Presiding Bishop and the
Council of Elders and Ordination Committee.

3. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship welcomes and embraces every human person with
the unconditional love and compassion of Christ regardless of their position or state in
life.

4. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship places no artificial barriers to the reception of the
Sacraments based on marital status or lifestyle. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship reaches
out to those who are alienated and disenfranchised from their churches of origin.

5. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship promotes the ministry of all women and men
called by their baptism to minister in the church.

6. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship upholds the holiness of work and family. We are
committed to social and economic justice and advocate for world peace.

7. The Corpus Christi Ecumenical Fellowship embraces inclusive language in all forms of
worship and prayer. We do not recognize, nor do we practice, the use of inclusive
language in Sacred Scripture. To do so would negate the cultural environment in which it
was written and thus endanger the contextual message of the Scriptures.
